Expo Team Member: Jim Lee

Jim joined the Expo team last Spring after tours of duty at four other startups. He calls himself “just a guy who builds websites” but we think thats silly because he combines the skills of a high output engineer with the sensibilities of a designer. Jim is rarely satisfied with satisfactory work and has an unmatched commitment to excellence, always putting in the extra time and sweat to make anything he touches polished and outstanding.

One place you can see this is in the search bar in the new website. Jim took the time to unify search across everything on Expo — users, tools, and libraries, into a single interface that lets you find whatever you’re looking for in the Expo ecosystem. Did you know you can search for things like “action sheet” and find Expo-compatible libraries you can install from npm?

He built our web presence and led our rebrand in collaboration with Bakken & Baeck. After closing 2017 with the launch of our new web platform, he’s focused on the continued growth of developers who use Expo every day.
