Today we’re announcing the transition to our new domain: expo.dev!

This change aligns our Internet presence with our love for serving the developer community.

Everything about how you work with Expo should be the same, except that the domain name in your browser bar will be way cooler 😎.

This change will roll out over time. We’ve already started with expo.dev, snack.expo.dev, status.expo.dev, and soon we’ll be moving this Medium blog over to blog.expo.dev, our docs to docs.expo.dev, and our Discourse forum to forums.expo.dev.

FAQ

Is there anything I need to do?

No, we’ll redirect all expo.io traffic to expo.dev for you. For people using the main website (https://expo.dev) on chrome, we’ll transfer over your expo.io login session so that you can get right back to work immediately! For people using browsers with stronger tracking protections enabled like Firefox and Safari, we aren’t able to transition over your login session, but will still redirect your requests.

https://expo.dev isn’t working for me. How can I fix this?

.dev was previously a popular convention for development tools to serve local domains. If you have a tool like Pow (http://pow.cx) active on your computer, please change the domain setting to .test or .localhost.

Should we call you Expo.io or Expo.dev?

We prefer to be called “Expo”. Expo the company and Expo the platform is much more than just our website.

Will my apps break?

We’ll continue to support *.expo.io services, so none of your code that relies on that domain will break.
